Tom Simcock commenced his well earned retirement on 1st
May 2007 having completed 38 years service with the Company.
Tom was recruited from the Company Auditors by the then Financial
Director, Charles Ahmed, back in 1969 and held a number of senior
positions within Finance as the Company set sail on the acquisition
trail when the Irish Dairy Board took eventual control culminating
in the formation of the Adams Foods Group.
These were exciting times in the company’s history and Tom
fondly remembers the time he spent at Elkes Biscuits in the 70’s
before returning to Leek and the subsequent changes in the 80’s
which saw the Company sell off its peripheral business interests
before focusing on its core dairy business and changing the company
name to The Kerrygold Company Limited.
Soon after the Company relocated to Barnfields in 1989 Tom was
appointed Financial Director and was Company Secretary for most
of the other IDB businesses based in the UK.

Tom
held a retirement get together at Leek Cricket Club where
he was joined by current colleagues and many who he had
worked with over the years.
He is hoping to make good use of the electric golf trolley
presented to him on the night, will have more time to spend
on his passion for horse racing and is looking forward to being
able to spend more time with his family.
Tom would like us to pass on his thanks for the many kind wishes
that he has received.
We all wish Tom a long and happy retirement.
