On the weekend of Friday 6th October to Sunday 8th October
2oo6 the students currently studying for the Institute of Leadership
and Management (ILM) qualification along with their mentors and
a number of managers travelled to Castleton for our second Management
Development Weekend.
The development forms part of the ILM course but was designed to
meet several objectives.
Presentation of the studen group project, 'Team Briefings - A Force
for Change' and recommendations for improvements to the current
system.
Discussions around the above recommendations and production of
an action plan for the implementation.

Development of proposals to improve the recruitment and retention
of staff.
As part of the weekend the group undertook various management,
teamwork and leadership exercises. All of those involved also
took part in either caving, abseiling or rock climbing activities
on the sunday morning.
