Firstly I would like to start by wishing you all a belated
happy New Year and best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2006.
Whilst we are only a few weeks into the New Year I am sure you will
all agree that there are already some exciting challenges on the
horizon.
Farewell to Processed Cheese
The first one being that after almost 25 years we will finally be
saying farewell to our Processed Cheese business.
As many of you will have witnessed over recent years, sales of Processed
Cheese on a national level have been steadily declining and as this
product range no longer forms part of Kerrygold’s core business
it is time for us to call it a day and move on.
Before we turned the machines off for the last time we needed to
produce sufficient stock to meet our customer’s demand for
these products over the next few months.
I would like to thank all of the employees within the Processed
Cheese Department for their commitment to this task.

New Business Secured
On a more positive note, I am delighted to confirm that we
have successfully negotiated some new business which will
be coming on board towards the end of April. The customer
is Dairygold Co-operative Society based in Ireland and we
have agreed a deal to supply them with all their pre-pack
requirements for the UK and Irish markets.
New Pre-pack Lines
To enable us to deliver this, the existing Processed Cheese
area will be vacated, refurbished and fitted out with an additional
three pre-pack lines.
I am sure you will all agree that these are exciting times
for Kerrygold as we consolidate our position as the UK’s
leading independent supplier of pre-pack cheese.
