On Sunday 13th November 2005 former Financial Director of Adams Foods, Khurshid (known as ‘Charlie’) Ahmed, died aged 72 following a long illness.

Charlie was one of Pakistan’s cricketing legends and was a member of the Pakistan squad during its historic first tour of India in 1952.

After first visiting the UK as part of the test squad in the early 1950’s he joined Adams in 1954 as a clerk within the Finance Department and by 1971 had been promoted to Financial Director.

Although Charlie left Kerrygold in 1976 he remained in contact with his former Kerrygold colleagues, most recently attending Brendan Doyle’s retirement party in March.
